Portraits

Portraits are some of the work I’m most drawn to because they give me the chance to pay close attention to personality, presence, and the little details that make someone feel like themselves. I’m not interested in portraits that feel stiff, generic, or disconnected from the person in front of the camera. I want them to feel honest, expressive, and true.
For me, a strong portrait is about more than how someone looks. I want it to reflect how they see themselves and how they want to be seen. More than anything, I want the image to feel connected to the person in it in a way that is personal, sincere, and real.
What I’m Drawn To
I’m drawn to portraits that feel like the person in them is fully there. Not just physically in front of the camera, but present in a way that feels honest and recognizable. Sometimes that comes through in expression, sometimes in the setting, and sometimes in the small details that make the image feel personal instead of generic.
What matters most to me is creating portraits that feel true to the person in them, portraits that feel connected to who they are, not shaped around what a portrait is “supposed” to look like. I’m always looking for the things that make an image feel like it belongs to that person and no one else.

What I Want People to Feel
More than anything, the goal is for people to feel like themselves in the images, to feel seen in a way that’s honest, natural, and true to who they are, not like they’ve been pushed into some version of themselves that doesn’t fit.
The final images should feel like something they can connect to, recognize, and feel comfortable seeing themselves in. If someone can look at a portrait and feel that it really reflects them, then that means I got it right.
